Health Unit seeing pertussis cases in Huron Perth

Huron Perth, ON – Similar to other areas in southern Ontario, Huron Perth Public Health is seeing cases of pertussis in children. In 2022, there were three cases; in 2023 to date, there have been 21 confirmed cases. Pertussis, also called whooping cough, is a highly contagious bacterial illness.

COVID-19 vaccine clinics cancelled due to inclement weather - February 3

Huron Perth, ON – Due to inclement weather, Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is cancelling the following COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Friday, February 3, 2023:

  • HPPH Clinton Office | 77722B London Road, Clinton  

Anyone who had an appointment at these clinics will need to rebook.  HPPH will not contact individuals to reschedule appointments.

Huron Perth, ON – Respiratory illness season indicators are stabilizing or improving in Huron Perth, and residents are encouraged to continue taking actions to prevent illness spread.

The number of lab-confirmed cases of influenza and RSV in Huron Perth are declining. As of January 25, 2023 there were two active COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care homes and 10 people in hospital due to the virus. Huron Perth, ON – The challenging respiratory illness season in Huron Perth continues. Respiratory viruses including COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are still circulating and are causing severe illness in some individuals.
