Heat Warning issued for Perth County

Perth County - Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for most of Perth County.

Humidex temperatures reaching 40°C are expected for the next three days. High daytime temperatures near 30°C are expected Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures and humidity may continue Friday.

Warm temperatures above 20°C each night will provide little relief from the heat.

HPPH looking for dog involved in a biting incident in Brussels

Huron County – Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is looking for a dog involved in a bite incident that occurred on August 8, 2021, at the Brussels Conservation area. The dog involved was a male German Shepherd, black and brown, and a little over a year old. There was no owner accompanied by the dog and victim was not able to see if the dog had any dog tags on him. The victim was bit when he was walking through the conservation area with his girlfriend.

Mosquitoes in Huron County Test Positive for West Nile Virus

Huron County - Huron Perth Public Health reminds residents to protect themselves against mosquito bites following confirmation that mosquitoes collected from a trap in Goderich tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). This is the first positive mosquito finding of the season for Huron County.

Huron Perth, ON – In follow up to the August 5 news release, please see updated information from Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) on Hepatitis A vaccination clinics.  HPPH is holding clinics due to the potential risk of Hepatitis A exposure from recalled frozen mango products. 

The clinics will be offered as follows to those who consumed any of the recalled products in the last 14 days:

HPPH to offer Hepatitis A vaccination clinics

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) declared a Hepatitis A outbreak on July 31. Due to the potential risk of Hepatitis A exposure to Huron Perth residents, Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) will hold Hepatitis A vaccination clinics next week.
