Huron Perth Public Health issues class order: employers of migrant workers

Farm workers are an essential part of our food supply chain and in recent weeks we have seen COVID-19 transmission and outbreaks occurring on farms in other parts of the province.

In order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread within farms who employ Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) or migrant workers, in Huron and Perth counties, Dr. Miriam Klassen, Huron Perth Medical Officer of Health has issued a Section 22 order under the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Huron Perth Public Health beach water testing begins

Huron Perth Public Health has begun annual beach water testing at municipally owned and operated beaches across Huron and Perth counties today. 

This year, however, our services will be modified due to HPPH’s COVID-19 response.  Instead of testing beach water twice a week, we will sample one day per week on Wednesdays. If high E. coli counts require beach water to be tested again, resampling will be done on Fridays (and Saturdays) where required.
