The 64-year-old male who resides in St. Marys presented to the emergency department at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on the evening of March 12 with symptoms unrelated to COVID-19. Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth Public Health, is recommending enhanced measures to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the region. “These recommendations reflect the changing nature of the situation around the world,” says Dr. Klassen. “By taking these following measures, we have the opportunity to stop or slow the spread of the virus in our community.”

The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) is a publicly-funded dental care program to help eligible low-income seniors access dental care. Huron Perth Public Health invites men and women to volunteer with Let’s Get Cookin’ – a hands-on cooking program that will be piloted in three Perth County elementary schools this spring. Volunteers will lead seven weekly sessions during the school day in April and May 2020. Sessions will be offered at schools in Perth East and North Perth.
