Privacy

To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include the names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses or any other personally identifying information of yourself or others in the body of your comment or post. Pictures of other people should not be posted without their express consent. Posts that include personal information, or identify a particular organization or person may be removed. 

Huron Perth Public Health does not collect, maintain or otherwise use the personal information stored on any third party social media site in any way other than to communicate with users on that site, unless granted permission by users for contact outside the site.

Comment Policy

The views of participants commenting on our social media accounts do not necessarily represent the views of Huron Perth Public Health. A valid account is required for every comment posted. 

While Huron Perth Public Health recognizes and respects differences in opinion, all comments, posts, messages, and photos are regularly monitored and reviewed by HPPH staff for content and relevancy. Huron Perth Public Health reserves the right to remove content and photos, in whole or in part, deemed inappropriate or which contain any of the following: 

  • Offensive, profane, hateful, insulting, rude, abusive, aggressive, violent, obscene, explicit, pornographic or sexual comments 
  • Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, age, creed, gender, marital status, socio-economic status, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation 
  • Personal attacks and/or defamatory statements 
  • Serious, unproven, unsupported, or inaccurate accusations 
  • Messages for advertising/marketing purposes 
  • Messages that conduct or encourage illegal activity 
  • Information that could compromise public safety, security or operations 
  • Messages that impersonate or represent someone else 
  • Comments that include potentially harmful misinformation or disinformation 
  • Comments containing spam or posted by anonymous or robot accounts, and 
  • Unintelligible messages 

Anyone acting contrary to these rules will be temporarily or permanently banned from posting subsequent messages to the site. 

Huron Perth Public Health reserves the right to reproduce comments, posts, and messages in other public venues. Identifying information, other than first name, will be removed unless prior approval is granted by the user. 

Limitation of Liability

Our social media accounts contains links to other groups, accounts and websites that are created and operated by other people and are therefore not under our control. Users should be aware that third party websites and social media accounts have their own privacy policies and should proceed accordingly, and may not be recommended by Health Unit. 

Huron Perth Public Health assumes no liability regarding any events or interactions that take place through any Health Unit sponsored social media service. 

Huron Perth Public Health may suspend, change or discontinue any aspect of their social media accounts at any time.
