Public Health Promoter - Full Time

Summary:
We have an opening for a full-time (1.00 FTE) PUBLIC HEALTH PROMOTER in the Population Health Department starting immediately. The position will be based from our Clinton or Stratford (West Gore) office.
Working in a multi-disciplinary setting, Public Health Promoters plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive public health programs and services using a variety of health promotion strategies.
Education:
- Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field; specialization in health promotion is an asset
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to support population-based public health initiatives with strong skills in program planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Experience applying comprehensive health promotion strategies within rural communities
- Strong understanding of protective and risk factors to support upstream, prevention-focused public health approaches
- Knowledge of health equity frameworks and ability to incorporate them into program planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Experience supporting quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement cycles
- Ability to assess and support development of healthy public policy at various levels (e.g., local, provincial) is an asset
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and on cross-team initiatives
- Experience working collaboratively with a variety of community partners to fulfill public health’s mandate
- Demonstrates adaptability across multiple program/team areas, strong organization and time- management skills when balancing competing priorities, and initiative to work independently as needed.
Conditions:
- Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement
- Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- Immunizations in accordance with Board Policy/Collective Agreements including annual influenza and COVID-19 immunizations unless medically contraindicated
- Successful candidates must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a safe and well-maintained vehicle suitable for carrying out duties on behalf of the employer
Hours:
Usually 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Monday to Friday (may include evenings and weekends)
Wage:
$39.22 – $44.61 per hour
