Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a heat warning for Huron Perth. A prolonged heat event began today, June 17, with extremely hot temperatures continuing throughout the week.

A bat in Stratford has tested positive for the rabies virus. This is the first bat to test positive in Huron Perth this year.

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is looking for a dog involved in an incident in Seaforth on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at around 3:15 p.m. The incident took place on Birch Street.

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is looking for a dog involved in an incident in Wingham on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m.  The incident took place on the Wingham Community Trail, on the part of the trail by the North Huron Community Food Share building.

On Friday, April 26, 2024, Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) issued 1557 suspension orders to elementary and secondary students whose immunization records are incomplete.

April is Oral Health Month in Canada. The Oral Health Team at Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is using the month to highlight “friendly” dental visits – a free service offered at HPPH dental clinics for children aged three years and under.

The Immunization team at Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is reminding parents to update their child’s immunization records. Nearly 2,900 records remain incomplete, down from the initial 5100.

Measles cases are increasing globally, including in Ontario. Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) strongly encourages residents to make sure they have protection against the measles virus and receive a vaccination if necessary.
