We currently have a job posting for a full-time ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT in Reception starting immediately.  This position is based from the West Gore office in Stratford.

Summary:

The successful candidate will provide administrative support and reception duties to support and ensure delivery of Health Unit programs and services. Reception works closely with all departments program personnel.

Education:

  • Secondary school diploma
  • Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Electronic databases is an asset

Skills:

  • Ability to learn new software programs quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Accuracy and team player
  • Previous work in a health care facility would be an asset

Conditions:

  • Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the relevant CUPE Collective Agreement
  • Obtain and maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector check and require immunizations in accordance with Board Policy/Collective Agreements including annual influenza and 3 doses of a COVID-19 immunization unless medically contra indicated

Public Health Inspectors (Temporary Full-Time)  Job Posting 48-2022

We currently have an opening for two (2) temporary full-time PUBLIC HEALTH INSPECTORS starting immediately and ending on December 31, 2022. These positions may be based out of either the Stratford or Clinton office and will require travel to other office/inspection locations.

Summary:

Within the Environmental Health Team, the Public Health Inspectors are responsible for:

  • Minimizing the incidence of health hazards through education, inspections and investigations under the Health Protection and Promotion Act.
  • Inspection programs: Food Safety; Health Hazard Investigation; Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (Personal Service Settings); Zoonotic Diseases; Vector-borne Diseases and Safe Water programs.
  • COVID-19: Supporting outbreak investigations and associated work.
  • Enforcing activities under the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada), note individuals awaiting certification may be considered.
  • A Bachelor degree in Applied Sciences or equivalent from an institution approved by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) Board of Certification.
  • Minimum one year experience as a Certified Public Health Inspector preferred; uncertified applicants completion of a CIPHI Board of Certification 12 week practicum is required.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication including computer skills.
  • Possesses knowledge and application of the Health Protection and Promotion Act and associated regulations

Registered Nurses provide clinical services for vaccine preventable programs

Education:

  • Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills in clinical nursing practices, such as immunization
