What to do if you have been exposed to an infectious disease
- Seek emergency medical attention, if needed
- Report the exposure to your Designated Officer
Reduce your risk of getting an infectious disease
You can reduce your risk of getting an infectious disease by:
- Washing your hands with soap and water
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) if needed
- Following cleaning and disinfecting protocols
- Keeping up to date on your immunizations
Get vaccinated
At Huron Perth Public Health, we recommend that you keep your routine immunizations up to date. You should have immunization protection against:
- tetanus and diphtheria
- hepatitis B
- influenza
- varicella (chicken pox)
- MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)
