Five to 11 year olds now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine booster

Huron Perth, ON – On August 31, 2022, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Moore, announced that children aged five to 11 will be eligible for a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Parents and caregivers are able to book an appointment for their child as of September 1, 2022.

Eligible children can receive their first booster dose at a recommended interval of at least six months following their most recent dose.

Eligibility for second booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine expands

Huron Perth, ON – On July 13, 2022, the Ontario government announced that it is expanding eligibility for second booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine to all Ontarians aged 18 and over.  Those newly eligible individuals will be able to make an appointment starting on Thursday, July 14.

COVID-19 spring vaccine

If you are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19, it is recommended that you receive an additional dose of a COVID-19 vaccine this spring. 
If you are not at increased risk, it is not recommended that you receive a dose this spring. Further vaccine recommendations will be available closer to fall 2024.
