Health Unit issues Section 22 Order to business operator

Huron Perth, ON – In follow up to the recent inspection blitz in North Huron, Huron Perth Public Health has issued a Section 22 Order to a business operator. 

Under Section 22 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, a medical officer of health can issue an order to “require a person to take or to refrain from taking any action in respect of a communicable disease.”

Horse in Perth County tests positive for rabies

Huron Perth, ON  ̶  A horse located in Blanshard Ward (Perth South)  has tested positive for rabies. This is the third animal to test positive in Huron Perth in 2021.  The first two positive results were in bats. “This latest positive result reminds us that rabies is still present in Huron Perth,” says Dale Lyttle, Senior Public Health Inspector.
